What is a Brazilian Blowout?
Brazilian Blowout, also known as Brazilian Keratin treatment is a hair straightening and hair smoothening treatment quite popular in the Philippines, for a very good reason.

The Brazilian Blowout is a much-talked about treatment for its transformative qualities. Meaning, it eliminates frizz (patay na buhok) and leaves you with super shiny hair that will definitely make heads turn.
But what is the difference between a Brazilian Blowout and Hair Rebonding?
For one, the treatment time for the Brazilian Blowout is 1 to 2 hours, depending on your hair thickness and texture. On average, it takes about 1.5 hours. Hair Rebonding takes about 4-6 hours, depending on the quality of your hair and whether or not it has been treated before.
Second, the Brazilian Blowout’s hair straightening effects last for 3-4 months, while the straightening effects of Hair Rebonding lasts 6-7 months.
What is a Brazilian Blowout?
The Brazilian Blowout is a type of hair treatment that uses a liquid keratin formula that bonds hair, creating a protective layer that wraps around each strand.
The results are visible after a single treatment: straighter, super-shiny hair with less frizz (patay na buhok). This treatment also seals your cuticles and protects from external damage. That means your hair is more resilient to heat styling (hair ironing or blow drying with high heat).
This treatment will straighten your hair, unlike the Brazilian Botox which has a milder, more subtle effect. The more your stylist flat irons your hair, the straighter your hair will be. However, it will NOT be able to straighten your hair to a pin-straight texture, unlike Hair Rebonding.
How long is the treatment and how long will it last?
The treatment takes about 60 to 90 minutes, although thicker, curlier hair will take longer – about 120 minutes. So that’s 1 – 2 hours spent at the salon. Not bad.
The effects last 3-4 months, but remember to avoid shampoo that contains sulfates and chlorine. Once the treatment wears off, your hair will return to its natural pattern.
SELLING POINT: Unlike Hair Rebonding, there will be no obvious line between your previously treated hair and new growth. In Hair Rebonding, you can easily see where the rebonded hair starts, and where the new growth is.
Where can I get Brazilian Blowout?
Fortunately, almost every high end or neighborhood salon in the Philippines offers Brazilian Blowout as the formula is available nearly everywhere.
It is also available at JuanPlace Beauty at Level 2 of 1576 A. Gabuya Street, Cogon, Pardo, Cebu City. Walk ins are welcome as this treatment does not take a long time, however, it is recommended you schedule an appointment via https://www.juanplace.com/transaction/reservation/add/ or call 0995 027 4889.
Aftercare
After your treatment, you are not allowed to wash your hair for 24 hours. It is also safer not to tie your hair back after the treatment.
Do not use shampoo that contains sulfates or chlorine.
Though Brazilian Blowout is safe on most hair types, it is not recommended that you do it as regularly as Brazilian Botox. Consult with your stylist if Brazilian Blowout is safe for your hair. Though most salons recommend getting a Brazilian Blowout every 4 months, we would recommend that you wait up to a year just to be safe.
